Responsible for overall operation of Food and Beverage areas while maintaining quality standards and maximizing profitability. Ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations. 

Responsibilities

Given our new opening of the Amarillo Embassy Suites hotel, we are looking for a strong Director that will support all food and beverage aspects of the hotel.  This is an opportunity to truly make an impact and join a strong and highly collaborative team.  What are the general responsibilities of this important role?  First and foremost, just like every other position within our company, this role will advance NewcrestImage’s core values of People come First, Communication is Knowledge, Giving is Fun, Experiences are Memorable and Response-Ability is Ours.  Without including out an exhaustive list of responsibilities, we are looking for candidates that bring strong business acumen, critical thinking and analytical skills.  The ideal candidate will possess exceptional project management skills and be proactive in all aspects of the business.  Here is a short list of responsibilities to consider:     

  1. Maintain a professional image and support the Company in actions and words at all times.

  2. Maintain a hotel atmosphere consistent with the Company’s standards for professionalism and total quality Guest service.

  3. Maintain open channels of communication with General Manager, fellow co-workers, Associates, and Guests.

  4. Address Guests’ complaints in a manner which results in superior Guest service.

  5. Actively enforce all safety policies to protect Associates, Guests, and Company Assets.

  6. Extend professionalism and courtesy to Guests at all times.

  7. Motivate and encourage staff to effectively solve problems needing attention.  

  8.  Assist and train Associates to understand Guests’ ever changing needs and how to exceed them.

  9. Proactively deal with Associate concerns.

  10. Provide a safe working environment, in compliance with OSHA/SMDS standards.

  11. Ensure a viable key control program is in place.

  12. Comply with all Corporate accounting procedures.

  13. Lead by example, demonstrating self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.

  14. In the absence of the General Manager, assume complete responsibility for the effective operation of all hotel areas, and the achievement of hotel goals.

  15. Ensure that staff reports to work as scheduled.  Document any late or absent Associates.  Coordinate breaks for Associates.

  16. Inspect grooming and attire of staff; rectify any deficiencies.

  17. Participate in establishment of a marketing plan for F&B.

  18. Establish and implement annual objectives for F&B areas.

  19. Prepare and maintain operating budget.  Attend budget meetings on a regular basis.

  20. Ensure that required operating licenses and permits are obtained and displayed as required by law.

  21. Support and uphold hotel philosophy concerning hiring, employee relations, supervision, and disciplinary action.

  22. Participate in quality control activities.

  23.  Maintain clean and safe work area. 

Qualifications

  1. 4-year College Degree, or equivalent, related experience
  2. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be able to move continuously for an 8-10 hour shift on a hard surface.

  2. Must be able to move a minimum of 20 pounds up to 5 feet high without the aid of another person.

  3. Must be able to ascend up to 6 feet in height on a step ladder.

  4. Must be able to position one’s self appropriately in order to efficiently make beds, carry trash, vacuum, dust, assist Guests with luggage, and set up meeting rooms.
